I had discovered back in graduate school that record albums were the quintessential intaglio plate--being already grooved, similar in thickness to printmaking plates, and they already had rounded/beveled edges that embossed beautifully into paper! I started printed from a couple of my severely scratched albums--you all remember--the ones we loaned out to friends--or left behind at parties, etc.. |

| Dec. 2009 At the Chapel Hill Community Center on 120 South Estes Drive a wood retaining wall separating a hillside from a playground area needed replacement; this situation presented an opportunity for an area artist to imagine an artistic and creative solution for this utilitarian project.
